Full time on campus
Our two campuses at Derby and Buxton are about 30 miles apart and easily accessible by road, rail and air.
Derby is a bustling city about 30 minutes from Nottingham, an hour from Birmingham and less than two hours from London. There are people from all over the world living in Derby – it’s a small, safe and friendly city with a thriving multi-cultural community.
Buxton is a small picturesque town on the edge of the Peak District National Park. It’s about an hour from Derby and Manchester and less than tree hours from London. Buxton is much quieter than Derby, with miles of beautiful countryside nearby – it’s a really safe and friendly place to be.

We offer two routes to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD):
Choose the Traditional Route MPhil/PhD if you have already gained research skills by doing a relevant masters degree. If you have recently finished your undergraduate degree and want to move straight on to a research degree, choose the New Route PhD.
